At least, that’s the vibe you’ll get for a limited time, thanks to an upcoming feature dubbed Jeff’s Winter Splash Festival. This exciting mode is set to launch in Marvel Rivals next week, offering players a fresh experience reminiscent of Nintendo’s vibrant and family-friendly shooter.
The festival is part of Marvel Rivals’ much-anticipated Winter Celebration event, which kicks off on December 20th. In this playful mode, two teams of four will compete to splash a snowy map with their team’s signature color using a special ability called Jeff’s Joyful Splash. Rather than controlling Inklings or Octolings, players will assume the role of the charming Jeff the Land Shark, engaging in lighthearted battles to spray festive saliva and dominate the game’s territory.
Being Marvel Rivals, you can expect a slew of event-themed costumes to spruce up your gameplay. Get ready to see Jeff don an adorable winter coat paired with cozy earmuffs. Groot will embrace the holiday spirit by dressing up as a Christmas tree, while Magik and Rocket Raccoon are geared up to hit the snowy slopes. And don’t miss Venom, who’s bringing some deliciously iced cakes to the holiday gathering.
Marvel and NetEase Games have more in store with promises of a “special winter greeting card packed with gifts from Jeff,” along with “a few surprises” as part of the Winter Celebration event.
