Get ready, because March is bringing us another VR Games Showcase! The organizers are hyping it up as the most extensive collection of XR games we’ve seen yet.
Right now, details are a bit scarce, especially regarding the exact date of the online event. However, the folks behind it have teased via social media that more information is on the horizon, so stay tuned.
Like previous showcases, we’re expecting to see which studios will join in, giving us hints about what games might be featured. You can bet there will be a strong focus on Quest titles, along with offerings for PSVR 2 and PC VR too.
Reflecting on last year’s showcase, it was packed with exciting announcements and updates. We got first looks at games like HITMAN III: Reloaded, Vertigo Games’ Arizona Sunshine Remake, and Fast Travel Games Action Hero. Additionally, there were enticing trailers for games such as GRIM, which drew inspiration from survival games in the vein of Rust. Over the course of the event, seven different studios shared news about more than 15 exciting titles.
Following that, there was a unique ‘XR Indies and Friends’ showcase a month later. This live-streamed event offered fresh insights into Innerspace VR’s One True Path, gameplay from Cyborn’s mixed reality project Wall Town Wonders, and a trailer for the VR version of Metamorphosis by Ovid Works—steeped in Kafkaesque vibes—along with a look at Just Add Water’s arcade digging sim DIG VR.
As we gear up for the March event, we’ll keep you posted with updates from the VR Games Showcase YouTube channel, where the event will be streamed live. Keep your eyes peeled for any new announcements!
