Lately, a few well-connected insiders from the gaming world suggested that Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 might be making its way to PS5 sooner than expected. They weren’t entirely certain if the PlayStation version of this Xbox exclusive would get a nod during the latest State of Play, but that didn’t stop hopes from bubbling up. While the possibility of Ninja Theory’s latest endeavor hitting Sony’s current-gen console remains shrouded in mystery, another industry insider has stirred the pot again, potentially hinting at when we might see this game on PS5.
Heading into the realm of rumors, Tom Warren from The Verge recently stirred excitement with a BlueSky post stating that April promises to be “a good month for PS5 gamers.” He left it at that without dropping any specific clues, but it’s hard not to wonder if Hellblade 2 might be part of the surprise.
Just the other week, insiders Jez Corden and NateTheHate added fuel to the fire, suggesting that a PS5 version of Hellblade 2 is indeed in the pipeline. Corden confidently noted that it’s coming “pretty soon,” based on what he’s gathered. NateTheHate backed up this claim with a playful nod on Twitter, posting a picture of Senua paired with a PS5, captioned “Soon… very soon.”
Of course, “soon” is about as precise as predicting the weather. It could mean tomorrow, or maybe several months away. April is on the table, but it’s a guessing game until Ninja Theory decides to make their move and announce when PS5 users can expect the next big Xbox title.
Interestingly, Warren’s post came just a day before the State of Play event, sparking speculation that he might have been referencing something unveiled at the presentation. As it turns out, the showcase revealed that the remastered version of Days Gone, part of Sony’s trend of refreshing recent hits, is set to launch on April 25. Whether this was the April surprise or if there’s more to come remains to be seen.
