Take-Two Interactive has hinted at its intention to back the Nintendo Switch 2, though details remain scarce for now.
Having already brought a range of popular titles to the original Switch, from BioShock: The Collection and Borderlands Legendary Collection to XCOM 2 Collection and Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, Take-Two has proved it’s no stranger to the platform. Other titles like New Tales from the Borderlands and LEGO 2K Drive have also made their way to the console, not to mention the latest entries such as NBA 2K25 and Sid Meier’s Civilization VII.
Reflecting on this relationship, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick shared some insights during the company’s Q3 2025 earnings call. “We’ve maintained a solid partnership with Nintendo, choosing to release games on their platforms when it aligns well with our goals. In the past, Nintendo’s consoles were more tailored to a younger audience, which was visible in our release choices,” he stated.
“Today, however, with the Nintendo Switch and potentially the upcoming Switch 2, the platform caters to a broader demographic. Clearly demonstrated by Sid Meier’s Civilization VII now being playable on the Switch. Although there’s nothing concrete to announce at the moment, we do anticipate supporting the Switch 2.”
For those eager to get more information on Nintendo’s next console, mark your calendars for a special Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2 presentation. It’s scheduled to stream at 6 am PT / 9 am ET / 2 pm BST / 3 pm CEST on Wednesday, April 2nd.
