Cards & Tankards, known for bringing a unique twist to social VR card gaming, is gearing up for an exciting new expansion set to launch later this month.
Created by Divergent Realities, this game is a mash-up of collectible card gameplay and virtual reality interaction, accessible on both traditional screens and VR headsets. The developers recently revealed the ‘Ashes of Ur-Enku’ expansion. Players can look forward to an array of fresh content, including 50 brand-new cards, animated diamond variants, a slew of new cosmetics, and an updated season pass. They’ll also notice some balancing tweaks and see rank resets implemented.
As players dive into the expansion, they’ll explore the wild terrains of Ur-Enku alongside the daring Plundering Guild. The guild uses a risky technique—fire-hunting—to unearth ancient Dwarven archives, shrouded for years beneath thick vegetation. These archives contain experiments with Aether, a mystical and potent force. However, the venture is perilous, and rumor has it only one adventurer will make it out alive.
Since its launch nearly two years ago, Cards & Tankards has consistently rolled out impressive post-launch improvements. The December update, Version 2.4, addressed various issues, while Version 2.3 saw substantial rebalancing, affecting over half the game’s cards. In March of last year, players enjoyed ‘The Crusade of Sun & Stone’ expansion, and the introduction of a ‘Ranked Mode’ enlivened the competitive spirit toward the end of 2023.
