In a recent development, board partners have been informed about a delay in the launch schedule for the RTX 5060 series GPUs. Originally slated for an earlier release, these graphics cards will now hit the market slightly later than planned.
GeForce RTX 5060 Ti Pushed to April, Followed by the RTX 5060 in May
Right before the eagerly anticipated release of the GeForce RTX 5070, rumors have been swirling about delays affecting the RTX 5060 series. Initial expectations had pegged the release for March with product availability in April. However, the latest reports suggest a pushback in these timelines.
While specifics behind this shift remain murky, confirmation from Board Channels indicates that NVIDIA’s board partners have already been briefed on the situation. Although no official statement has come from NVIDIA yet regarding the RTX 5060 series, the report seems credible. Earlier whispers about potential bugs and supply chain hiccups causing the holdup haven’t been validated by NVIDIA.
NVIDIA communicated to all AIC partners through internal emails about the delayed release of the RTX 5060 Ti / 5060 series. Brands have been informed that these GPUs will see a delay, with the RTX 5060 Ti 16G / 8G series likely postponed until mid-April, and the RTX 5060 series expected around mid-May. Exact dates will follow in a subsequent notification from NVIDIA.
Now, the buzz is that the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti might see its debut in mid-April, with the GeForce RTX 5060 following about a month later, around mid-May. Both versions of the RTX 5060 Ti are expected to launch simultaneously. However, precise launch dates have yet to be communicated, even to NVIDIA’s own partners.
Interestingly, the delay could align the RTX 5060 series release with that of AMD’s RX 9060 series. With the RX 9060 XT and RX 9060 cards forthcoming in 8 GB and 16 GB variants, they’ll compete head-to-head with the RTX 5060 Ti’s offerings. Although there’s no concrete date for the RX 9060 series, they’re projected to enter the fray in the second quarter.
Looking at the tech specs, the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti aims to succeed the RTX 4060 Ti, boasting 4608 CUDA Cores, either 8 or 16 GB GDDR7 VRAM, and a power draw of 180W. Meanwhile, the RTX 5060 is set to replace the RTX 4060, featuring 3840 CUDA Cores, 8 GB GDDR7 VRAM, and a TDP of 150W. Interestingly, rumors of a 12 GB VRAM version of the RTX 5060 have surfaced through leaks, although this has not been confirmed. Should this variant emerge, it could outpace the RX 9060, which is only expected to carry the 8 GB version.
