Yesterday, Bigscreen threw open the doors to orders for its highly anticipated Beyond 2 PC VR headset, and the response has been nothing short of impressive. Featuring a brand-new pancake lens design that enhances field-of-view and clarity, Beyond 2 is proving to be a hot item. In just the first 10 hours of availability, sales of Beyond 2 skyrocketed, surpassing the original Beyond headset’s lifetime sales with ease.
Bigscreen took to X to update the gaming community on the headset’s stellar performance. The company noted that Beyond 2 managed to outsell the first day’s sales of Beyond 1 in just 25 minutes. By the end of the first hour, sales had doubled what Beyond 1 achieved on its launch day. As the day continued, more insights were shared about the sales figures for both Beyond 2 and its eye-tracking sibling, Beyond 2e. The stats are genuinely jaw-dropping.
“Within 10 hours of launch…Beyond 2 has sold more than the first FOUR MONTHS of Beyond 1 sales,” Bigscreen reported, clearly proud of the reception their new headset is receiving.
Right now, anyone looking to get their hands on the Beyond 2 or the Beyond 2e should be prepared for a bit of a wait. Shipping estimates have already shifted to June 2025 after the initial batch slated for April and May quickly sold out.
But what’s driving all this excitement for Beyond 2? The reasons seem plenty. Aside from boosting specs, Bigscreen offers a hassle-free upgrade path. Owners of the original Beyond can snag the Beyond 2 for a discounted $849 or the Beyond 2e for $1049. The headsets remain compatible with most Beyond 1 accessories, including the essential custom facial interface.
Tech-wise, Beyond 2 introduces a refined pancake lens setup, delivering a broader 116-degree diagonal FOV, adjustable IPD, and a svelte 107g weight. The 2e variant even features AI-driven eye-tracking. While the display specs remain a constant with dual 1-inch 2,560 × 2,560 micro-OLED screens, the new lenses promise enhanced clarity and an improved field-of-view.
Beyond 2 and 2e are available at $1,019 and $1,219, respectively, with discounts available for previous Beyond users. Moreover, Bigscreen paired the launch with an announcement about a new halo-style mount and Lightblocker facial interface, expected to hit the market in Q3 2025.
For those eager to enhance their VR experience, everything mentioned is up for grabs on Bigscreen’s website.
