After weeks of discussions about tariffs, we’ve finally got the date for when U.S. gamers can start preordering the Switch 2.
Nintendo announced today that preorders for the Switch 2 will kick off on Thursday, April 24. The price tags remain unchanged for now: the standalone system will cost $449.99, while the bundle with digital Mario Kart World is set at $499.99.
However, in light of the ever-changing market conditions, Nintendo did mention there would be some price hikes for accessories. The Switch 2 Pro Controller is now priced at $84.99, and a set of Switch 2 Joy-Cons is $94.99—both increasing by $5. Also, if you’re looking to snag an additional dock set, it’ll now set you back $119.99, which is a $10 increase. Extra Joy-Con straps are now $13.99, and various other accessories have seen a $5 bump. As for our neighbors up north, Canadian gamers should be able to start preordering on the same day, though this might not be officially confirmed until later due to a national holiday. That said, Nintendo of Canada assures us the dates and Canadian pricing are aligned with the U.S. rollout.
