If you’ve been impatiently waiting to dive into Dune Awakening, you’re in luck! A free open beta weekend is coming up, running from May 9 to May 12. It’s a great chance to finally experience the game instead of just reading about it.
Now, there’s a catch to joining in on the fun. You’ll need to either wishlist the game before May 9 to nab an entry or snag one of the “thousands” of beta codes that the team will distribute during the weekend. So, it’s open… kind of. Consider it a bit like a semi-open house with the door slightly ajar for the fortunate ones.
Interestingly, this beta happens just days before the original launch date of May 15, which has been postponed. The team at Funcom decided to take a bit more time to polish everything up for a smoother full release.
During the beta, players can explore the first two regions, potentially offering around 20 hours of gameplay. Dive into a few Research Facilities, try out the early abilities across various classes, and engage in some PvP action at ship crash sites. It’s a solid preview of what’s to come. Speaking of previews, check out our latest one for Dune Awakening, where we delve into this very part of the game.
