Smilegate has decided to invest in Dan Houser’s company, Absurd Ventures, as part of a strategic move. While the exact amount of investment remains undisclosed, Smilegate, based in Korea, will gain a significant opportunity to engage with the new intellectual properties developed by Absurd Ventures.
Smilegate has made a name for itself with the popular Crossfire series and its collaboration with Amazon on the MMO, Lost Ark. According to Houser, “This partnership with Smilegate emerged from a shared respect and alignment in philosophy with their founder, Kwon. The passion he and his team exhibit in creating top-tier games is something I deeply admire. Together, we aim to create compelling worlds and offer fresh experiences to players.”
Joonho Sung, the CEO of Smilegate, shared his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We are excited to work alongside the developers of such globally loved series.
