Kluge Interactive, the creative minds behind the popular VR rhythm game Synth Riders, are gearing up to launch their latest project, FINAL FURY. This much-anticipated VR fighting game will be available in early access for Quest and SteamVR headsets next month.
Starting May 8th, players with Quest 2 and higher, as well as PC VR headsets, can dive into Final Fury. It’s an arcade-style fighting experience that combines the classic 1v1 action with a unique, gesture-based gameplay system.
With nine-time EVO champion Justin Wong lending his expertise, this early access version blends hand gestures with actual room-scale movement. Players can become one of six unique fighters, each with their own moves and arenas. And there’s more on the way post-launch.
"When Kluge Interactive approached me with their vision for FINAL FURY, I was intrigued by their aim to blend classic fighting mechanics with a fresh first-person VR perspective," said Wong. "After testing features like dashes and grabs, I’m eager to see how players will react when they get their hands on the game in Early Access."
When the early access launches, here’s what you can expect:
- You are the Fighter! – Experience full VR combat with real punches, dodges, and blocks.
- Innovative VR Combat – Classic fighter mechanics reimagined for a physical gameplay experience.
- Expanding Roster – Six fighters available from the start, each with unique abilities, arenas, and styles.
- Arcade Mode Unlocks – Battle the AI to unlock new fighters, stages, and cosmetics.
- Online Multiplayer – Enjoy cross-platform play with rollback netcode for seamless, competitive matches.
- Pulse-Pounding OST – An original soundtrack by Zardonic, known for SUPERHOT: MCD.
You can add Final Fury to your wishlist now on the Horizon Store for Quest 2 and above, or on Steam for PC VR headsets. Mark your calendars for May 8th when it will release at a price of $9.99.
