Ascend Mount Olympus in Walkabout’s Most Extensive Course

Mount Olympus has become the latest adventure in Walkabout Mini Golf, offering players the chance to scale this iconic mountain in their mini-golf endeavors. Just released, this is the 32nd course in the game, following the popular Viva Las Elvis launched back in January. Lucas Martell, head of the development studio, highlights that Mount Olympus surpasses even the vast layout of the 2023 Temple At Zerzura course, making it the biggest so far.

Imagine yourself playing mini-golf amongst the ancient gods—perched high above the stunning Aegean Sea. This legendary realm is where divine beings gather to decide the fate of mere mortals through a challenging mini-golf journey. As you navigate, you’ll encounter intricate temples, mythical backdrops, and demanding obstacles. But tread carefully; the Olympian Council watches closely, ready to judge if you emerge victorious or fall victim to their divine discontent.

Ascending Mount Olympus, players will come across temples adorned with the icons of Zeus, Apollo, Artemis, and other members of the main Greek pantheon. When we took a virtual tour with Walkabout’s creator Lucas Martell, it turned out to be our most extensive exploration yet—spanning a full 28 minutes packed with exclusive behind-the-scenes insights.

In a recent chat, I had the pleasure of discussing the game’s design process with Mighty Coconut’s senior art director, Don Carson. He explained their commitment to go above and beyond with a multi-layered design philosophy. This intricate approach spans over a year, with teams passing on courses in a careful sequence. Today, the dedicated Mighty Coconut team, affectionately dubbed the “Coconuts,” has grown to dozens of skilled members.

Considering the success of Viva Las Elvis, which brought in the highest sales in almost five years, one wonders if Mount Olympus will continue this momentum and become another fan favorite, enticing players to add more courses to their collection.
