Customize Components
Once you’ve decided on a controller, Xbox Design Lab provides ten customization options, ensuring the final product is truly unique to you. And if you’re not sure along the way, you can preview your design anytime and save different versions for comparison.
Body
The main piece of your controller, the Body, sets the tone for the entire design. For the Xbox Wireless Controller, choose from sleek matte finishes to vibrant patterns like Vapor, Shift, Camo, and the bold Pride design. There are game-themed options too, such as the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Fallout designs. The Elite Series 2 adds a new Cipher series with a translucent case, showcasing the components inside, along with matte and game-inspired designs.
Back
Customize the back of your controller, which includes everything behind the grips. You can match it with the front or go for a contrasting color for a standout look.
Grips
Improve your gameplay experience with rubberized grips. Available for a small additional fee on the Xbox Wireless Controller, they’re standard on the Elite Series 2, providing enhanced control.
Bumpers
Customize the bumpers’ color to match or contrast with the rest of your controller. The Wireless Controller offers standard options, while the Elite Series 2 features a selection of metallic finishes.
Triggers
Triggers are essential for gameplay control. The Wireless Controller offers a range of colors and metallic options for a unique touch, while the Elite Series 2 includes metallic designs to complement or contrast with your bumpers.
D-Pad
With the Xbox Wireless Controller, you can choose from standard and metallic colors, while the Elite Series 2 offers a four-direction or Faceted D-Pad with single-tone metallic or the eye-catching Chroma designs.
Thumbsticks
Custom thumbsticks are available in standard colors for the Wireless Controller. The Elite Series 2 provides even more customization options, allowing you to select colors for the metal base and separate hues for the thumbstick ring and topper.
ABXY Buttons
The iconic buttons can be customized with seven designs on the Wireless Controller and up to 20 variations on the Elite Series 2, including unique color schemes for a personalized touch.
View, Menu, Share Buttons
On the Wireless Controller, select from five styles for these central buttons. The Elite Series 2 offers 24 color options to make your design pop.
Engraving
Add a final personal touch by engraving up to 16 characters on either controller, perfect for names, Gamertags, or special messages.
Pick a Pre-Made Design
If you’re a fan of specific games, Xbox Design Lab features ‘Inspired By’ designs for various Xbox titles. These can be used as they are or tweaked to reflect your style. The Game Collection also includes special variations for games like Fallout and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, all further customizable.
Choose Some Elite Extras
For those opting for the Elite Series 2, Xbox Design Lab has additional adjustable elements to enhance this premium controller. You can get a Carry Case and Charging Pack, a Paddle Pack with additional paddles, or a Thumbsticks and D-Pad Pack for adaptability. The Everything Pack combines all these elements in one. If you already have an Elite Series 2 controller, you can purchase these accessory packs separately.
Adaptive Thumbstick Toppers
In collaboration with community members and organizations, Xbox Design Lab offers free 3D printable files for adaptive thumbstick toppers, supporting various accessibility needs. These designs can be created for both the Xbox Wireless Controller and the Elite Series 2, with additional designs for the upcoming Xbox Adaptive Joystick set for release in early 2025.
With everything laid out, you’re ready to head to Xbox Design Lab and start designing your one-of-a-kind Xbox controller. Happy customizing!
