FragPunk takes the tactical hero shooter genre to an exciting new place, offering intense 5v5 battles with its 13 distinct characters, known as Lancers. Each Lancer brings their own flavor to the battlefield with at least three supernatural abilities. Whether you’re planning to glide around with a guitar-turned-shotgun, transport your whole squad to a new location instantly, or patch up teammates after a hard-fought skirmish, there’s a Lancer perfectly crafted for your playstyle.
The balance among FragPunk’s hero lineup is generally solid, offering opportunities for all Lancers to shine in the right hands and in the right scenarios. However, not all are created equal, and some Lancers have that edge which makes them invaluable, whether you’re attacking or defending, or slotting into the perfect team setup with Shard Cards. As you climb the ranks, knowing which characters lead the current meta can be crucial, especially since unlocking them requires Gold, FragPunk Coins, or Lancer Trophies. To make wise choices, we’ve crafted a tier list and rated each Lancer from S to B, based on their ease of use, versatility, and overall impact.
Let’s dive into the FragPunk Tier List.
S-Tier Characters: Nitro, Hollowpoint, Pathojen, Spider, Kismet
A-Tier Characters: Serket, Broker, Zephyr, Sonar, Corona
B-Tier Characters: Jaguar, Axon, Chum
S-Tier Breakdown
When it comes to top-tier heroes, Nitro is a standout. She might lack mobility, but her abilities are game-changers. Her Chug Chug drone is not just for damage—it’s a stealthy scout that lets Nitro stay out of harm’s way while keeping an eye on the enemy. The Wall creates innovative sightlines and defensive opportunities, blocking shots and revealing foes who attack it.
Hollowpoint, with her sniper expertise, can be deadly. Her Meteora railgun does devastating damage and even highlights hidden enemies. The Smoke Screen ability not only blocks views but pings enemies, and her Paparazzi trap makes opponents vulnerable by tagging them until they shake it off.
Pathojen is indispensable. Her AOE healing field stands alone as FragPunk’s only healing power. Add a defensive Shroom Wall and a strategic trap with Killer Queen to the mix, and you have an Lancer that any team would envy.
Spider brings a unique edge with his Teleporter, though it’s most effective when the team is on the same page. It allows for creative plays and seamless team rotations. His Spirited Away trap can spell doom for enemies, whisking them away for easy takedowns.
Kismet excels in offense. With her Walk on the Wild Side, she can become invisible and untouchable, breezing past danger zones. Her other abilities add to her threat level, with stealth scans and hard-hitting attacks that cover barriers.
A-Tier Standouts
Serket is versatile with forward-thinking abilities that cover movement, smoke, and crowd control. Her Station to Station teleport and faltering ability show potential but needs refinement to push her into S-Tier.
Broker cleans up with area denial and flexible smoke options. His Goddard’s Vengeance rockets promise damage and disruption, while his unique smoke setups can command the battlefield.
Zephyr is a master of stealth, leveraging invisibility to great effect—if one can avoid the numerous traps and recon gear. Her tactics promote strategic retreats or surprise confrontations.
Sonar capitalizes on information control, though her potential is tethered to how well the team can use that intel. It’s a challenge to rise further without better mobility or solo abilities.
Corona’s moves are tightly knit, making him a dangerous dueler with a clever mix of attacks and defensive buffs.
B-Tier Observations
Jaguar’s abilities, while potent, fall short compared to others in his league. His tools provide glimpses but not the decisive strikes needed in critical moments.
Axon’s close-quarters prowess requires luck and skill to maximize his rockstar kit. His immunity to flashes provides a trick not easily matched, but it’s of limited use when a precise shot is around the corner.
Chum relies on his ‘sidekick’ Chomper, a strategic companion with limited durability. While Chomper’s explosive and smoke capabilities have their merits, Chum’s dependency on him for maneuverability leaves him vulnerable.
