Bandai Namco Entertainment has just rolled out an update for Freedom Wars Remastered on the Nintendo Switch, bumping the game up to version 1.4.0. This latest update tackles several pesky bugs, improving the overall experience for players.
Key issues addressed include unresponsiveness in multiplayer lobbies, where players found themselves unable to move if another person joined after they’d marked themselves ready. Another fix targets a screen-freezing glitch that occurred during matchmaking in private rooms if the host canceled the process. The update also corrects a situation where items would drop from enemies that weren’t supposed to, along with several other unintentional gameplay repetitions.
Now, you can easily get your hands on Freedom Wars Remastered via the Nintendo eShop globally, ensuring everyone has access to this polished version.
Here’s a closer look at the Version 1.4.0 patch notes:
Bug Fixes
Multiplayer Lobby Unresponsiveness
The dreaded bug where players became stuck after another player joined in was tackled, allowing smooth progression to deployment.
Private Room Matchmaking Freeze
In certain conditions, leaving a private room during matchmaking could freeze a guest’s screen. Thankfully, that’s now a thing of the past.
Operation Start Circle Issue
A problem in co-op play stopped players interacting with the Contribution Start Circle from being ready. This has now been ironed out.
Incorrect Item Drops from Enemies
Enemies should no longer drop items they shouldn’t have in their loot table.
No Reinforcements During Missions
At times, enemy reinforcements wouldn’t appear in online multiplayer, halting mission progress. The reinforcement bug has been squashed.
Natalia’s Solitary Sentence Issue
Adding Natalia’s sentence would darken the screen, preventing game progression—a bug that’s now resolved.
Repetitive Operations
Some operations appeared repeatedly on the Contribution list, allowing them to be unfairly replayed. This issue is no more.
Exceeding Augmentation Costs
When players max out their cost limits with augmentations, they’ll now find the extras automatically unequipped to maintain balance.
Other fixes include visible player icons, updated city-state and ranking info post-transfer, and ally behavior improvements during contributions. The team has also made numerous other bug adjustments.
Specification Adjustments and Changes
[Willonite: Minimum Purity] GDPP Value
The GDPP value linked to item delivery has been adjusted.
Thorn Gauge Adjustment
When reviving another character, the Thorn Gauge won’t be consumed unless it’s a revival done from a distance.
Carrying Citizens
Staggering behavior when bumping into things while carrying citizens has been minimized for smoother gameplay.
Mimas and Caliburn Weapons
The attack hitbox for certain heavy melee weapons has been corrected to reflect the visual cues accurately.
Power Attack With Thorn Connection
Instead of a non-chargeable special attack, you’ll now trigger a chargeable normal attack when linked to the Thorn. If you perform a power attack, the Thorn connection will disengage for all weapons.
Post-Contribution Chat
Chat functionality has been enabled between a successful contribution and the result screen.
Dionaea’s Dragon Beam
The hitbox for Dionaea’s devastating attack has undergone adjustments.
Modular Synthesis Enhancements
Weapons with modules now display an [E] mark on the synthesis screen to show equipment status at a glance.
In addition to these updates, Bandai Namco is planning future tweaks. Enhancements include Japanese character input and refining the critical multiplier for mutated weapons. The developers also aim to fix sound balance issues and tackle some nagging crashes and freezes. Stay tuned for more improvements as the team continues refining gameplay and user experience.
