Leaked Details of the New Pokémon TCG Set Revealed

Recently, there’s been some buzz around a leaked trademark suggesting the upcoming release of a new Pokémon TCG set called “Inferno X.” This intriguing development hints at the debut of Mega Evolutions from the Pokémon X & Y era. Fans are speculating that this set might make its debut in Japan anytime between October and November 2025. But before that, players can look forward to the Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia sets expected to launch this August.

The Pokémon TCG community is abuzz with anticipation for 2025, an exciting year boasting numerous expansions and sets. Kicking off the fun, the Destined Rivals expansion is slated for a May release, packing over 240 cards. Meanwhile, players eagerly await the mid-year arrival of the Black Bolt and White Flare sets, anticipated to hit stores in June. Adding fuel to the excitement, recent trademark filings suggest another Mega Evolution set is on the horizon for later in 2025 in Japan.

Word on the street, or rather from PokeBeach, is that the Pokémon Company recently trademarked “Inferno X” in Japan, sparking curiosity among fans about a fresh TCG set. If the leaked schedule is accurate, the Inferno X release could be just around the corner in October or November, possibly featuring beloved Mega Evolution cards like Mega Charizard X from Pokémon X & Y. Although trademarks often surface six to nine months before the respective TCG sets launch, they don’t always follow a predictable order. Therefore, until the Pokémon Company officially announces dates, the timeline for the Inferno X release remains speculative.

In a February 27 announcement during the Pokémon Presents presentation, it was revealed that the Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia sets are poised for an August release. These sets will star Mega Lucario ex and Mega Gardevoir, marking the first two Mega Evolution sets of the year, with more to follow leading up to Pokémon Legends: Z-A’s release for Nintendo Switch. With Mega Charizard already confirmed for the new game, its inclusion in the Mega Evolution series of TCG sets appears more likely than ever, given its widespread popularity.

For regions outside Japan, however, the release timeline for this new Mega Evolution series remains a mystery. But there’s good news—the Pokémon Company has confirmed that Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia will see a worldwide release in 2025. In response to high demand, the company plans to ramp up production, ensuring better availability of these highly sought-after products. Moreover, they aim to replenish stocks of previously released TCG products at the Pokémon Center online store and popular retailers like GameStop.
