As we look back on last week’s gaming releases, a few highlights slipped under our radar: Quilts and Cats of Calico, once showcased in Indie World, made a sudden appearance, and North America got a taste of a new Dodonpachi bullet hell shooter, Saidaioujou. Meanwhile, Taito’s Warrior Blade joined the Archives lineup this week.
Spending the festive season out in the boonies at my parents’ place has been quite the challenge… especially when the internet connection is as reliable as a paper umbrella in a storm. As I skimmed through the eShops, hoping to catch a glimpse of an enticing new game, the options were, frankly, less than thrilling. And, for some reason, Europe seems to receive several identical games from different publishers, despite North America reportedly snagging one of them weeks ago. Go figure.
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, a Happy Hanukkah, or simply a joyous whatever-you-celebrate! And here’s hoping Nintendo might be visited by some timely "spirits" to sort out this gaming lull pronto. Until next week, stay tuned!
North America Releases:
This week’s lineup features an eclectic range of titles from Restaurant Tycoon: My Cooking Empire available on Wednesday for $29.99 USD, to Thinking of You: Beyond Time launching Friday for $24.99. The playful Airborne Grannies makes its debut on Wednesday, priced at $9.99, while Friday sees the release of Basketball Legends 24 for the same price.
Cyberpunk Speed Assassin intrigues at $10.99, and Golf Up tees off on Wednesday at a cost-friendly $6.99. Meanwhile, worth mentioning are the ongoing sales, including The Ace Attorney Investigations Collection, now at 25% off until January 6.
European Gaming Scene:
Across the pond, Restaurant Tycoon lands Wednesday at €29.99, and the whimsical Star Trek: Legends beams in the same day for €11.99. Pizza Maker slices its way into the gaming world Saturday for €9.99, while Darts Fever hits on Tuesday for just €4.99.
Japan’s Latest Offerings:
In Japan, Restaurant Tycoon graces the market with a price tag of ¥4680. Gaming enthusiasts can also look forward to The Owl Lurking in the Dusk and Subaru at Dawn for ¥3300, while Thinking of You: Beyond Time matches that price. If you’re searching for a wallet-friendly pick, Sudoku Classic 2 is available for ¥600.
