There’s some exciting news for fans of Split Fiction, as a film adaptation of the popular game is reportedly in the works.
According to a report from Variety, Story Kitchen is spearheading the project, assembling a team of actors, writers, and a director. This is the same company that worked on adapting Hazelight’s previous hit, It Takes Two, which is being developed by Amazon. They’re also involved in bringing other fan-favorite games like Toejam and Earl, Slime Rancher, and Vampire Survivors to the big screen.
Hollywood seems to be buzzing with interest, with offers pouring in from several high-profile studios.
Split Fiction made a splash when it debuted in March, selling an impressive one million copies in just 48 hours. By the end of the first week, that number had doubled to two million. “Holy crap, we’re blown away! Simply amazing,” Hazelight exclaimed on Bluesky after reaching this impressive milestone.
The developers expressed their gratitude, saying, “Thank you to all of our new and old fans – we love how excited you are for our game.”
Notably, the adaptation of It Takes Two already has Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson attached to it, while its script is being crafted by Pat Casey and Josh Miller, known for their work on Sonic the Hedgehog.
