Dave Baszucki, the CEO of Roblox, has shared advice for parents worried about the potential risks on the platform: if it makes you uneasy, it’s best to steer your children clear of it.
In his conversation with the BBC, the co-founder and chief executive highlighted that even a single unpleasant encounter on Roblox is one too many in his eyes.
“If you’re feeling uncertain, my initial suggestion would be to keep your kids off Roblox,” Baszucki stated plainly. “It might seem a bit contrary, but I believe in parents taking the lead and deciding what’s best for their families.”
When questioned about the troubling reports of negative encounters and misuse by bad actors on the platform, Baszucki elaborated: “Within the company, we are steadfast in our view that even one harmful incident is unacceptable. We actively monitor for bullying, harassment, and other issues. Our filtering processes are robust, and if need be, our investigations reach the point where we might involve law enforcement.”
This discussion arises in light of recent revelations about misuse on Roblox, which has prompted the company to enhance its child safety protocols.
