Tango Gameworks, the Japanese developer, is contemplating a follow-up to their 2023 hit game, Hi-Fi Rush. In a candid chat with IGN, Colin Mack, the head of the studio, shared that while a sequel is on their radar, they’re not yet in a position to officially announce any definitive plans.
“We’re giving serious thought to a second installment,” Mack revealed to IGN. “However, we’re not quite at a stage where we can lay out a precise roadmap for what’s next.”
Further adding to the conversation, Hi-Fi Rush’s director, John Johanas, mentioned, “There’s a lot of passion for Hi-Fi Rush among our team, and this has opened up several possibilities for us. We’re actively exploring various options right now.”
On a broader note, project manager Kazuaki Egashira reflected on Tango Gameworks’ philosophy, emphasizing their commitment to innovation. “Hi-Fi Rush gained traction as a fresh intellectual property, but to remain relevant, it can’t stay static forever,” Egashira noted.
Egashira continued, “At its core, Tango Gameworks thrives on embracing new challenges. We strive to maintain a developer-centric approach, fueled by our unwavering passion.”
