You can breeze through Space Marine 2’s main campaign in just a few hours, but Saber Interactive keeps the game fresh with continuous updates packed with new operations and multiplayer options. Just last Thursday, Saber rolled out its third major content update, aptly named Datavault. This latest patch introduces a brand-new chamber to the battle barge, an array of fresh cosmetics, a new PvP map, and the formidable Tyranid Biovore.
In the world of Space Marine 2, players can step into the boots of Commander Titus to tackle the primary story or dive into additional Operations. These side missions aren’t essential to finishing the main campaign, but they enrich the narrative by providing context to various military tactics and maneuvers. While waiting to join Operations or participate in PvP, players can relax aboard the Ultramarine battle barge. Now, thanks to the Datavault update, this barge features a new chamber where Tech-Priests meticulously gather data on the game’s adversaries. By taking on challenges, players can collect this data, which serves as a form of currency to acquire awesome power armor pieces and weapon skins.
The update also brings the fearsome Biovore into Operations, a Tyranid unit that’s nothing short of impressive. Sporting crab-like legs and a huge organic cannon on its back, it’s a fan-favorite model from the tabletop game. For PvP enthusiasts, there’s a fresh map to explore, inspired by the eerie atmosphere of a Necron tomb.
Additionally, the Datavault patch offers a new season pass, featuring armor sets from the Raven Guard and Salamander chapters. Players can also challenge themselves with a new Absolute difficulty mode, along with numerous quality-of-life enhancements and balance adjustments.
