By the end of December 2024, a significant shift is occurring for fans of PS5 and PS4 racing games, particularly those fond of NASCAR titles. Come December 31, all NASCAR gaming entries, along with their downloadable content, will vanish from digital shelves like the PS Store. This move aligns with iRacing’s acquisition of NASCAR gaming rights, which happened last year.
Currently, if you’re looking to scoop up some NASCAR racing games on PS5 or PS4, the PS Store is offering some appealing discounts, though availability may vary by region. Take NASCAR Arcade Rush’s Project X-Edition, for example—it’s slashed by a hefty 75%. Additionally, PS Plus Extra and Premium members can jump into NASCAR Heat 5 without any extra cost.
Interestingly, NASCAR Heat 5 hasn’t been noted on the list of games rotating out of PS Plus by mid-December. This likely means it’ll be available for download until the end of the year unless Sony decides otherwise before then.
Motorsport Games took to Twitter with a message to the NASCAR gaming community, announcing the removal of all titles and DLC from sale post-December 31, 2024. Despite this, games you’ve already purchased will still be playable after they’re delisted. The tweet also mentioned popular titles like @NASCARHeat and @NASCARRivals.
Here’s the rundown of all ten NASCAR games set for removal across all platforms:
– NASCAR 15: Victory Edition
– NASCAR Rivals
– NASCAR 21: Ignition
– NASCAR Heat Mobile
– NASCAR Heat Evolution
– NASCAR Heat Ultimate Edition
– NASCAR Heat 2
– NASCAR Heat 3
– NASCAR Heat 4
– NASCAR Heat 5
If you already own any of these games, or snag a copy before the deadline, you’ll continue to have access to them. Meanwhile, eyes are on the horizon as iRacing is working on NASCAR 25, anticipated for a fall 2025 release.
