Today marks an exciting milestone as the Video Game History Foundation unveils its digital library of research materials to the public through an early access launch. Even in this early stage, the library boasts an impressive collection of over 1,500 rare and out-of-print video game magazines, all of which are fully text-searchable. Among these treasures are game development documents, artwork, press kits, promotional items, and other materials that have remained hidden from public view until now.

Two standout collections making a splash in this launch are the Mark Flitman Collection and the Cyan Collection. The Mark Flitman Collection, in particular, played a significant role in NWR’s 30th anniversary documentary on Star Fox and our in-depth analysis of Dylan Cuthbert’s Eclipse demo. These projects were made possible through our collaboration with the Video Game History Foundation. Meanwhile, the Cyan Collection offers an insider’s view with over 100 hours of production footage from the creation of the Myst series.
